Date: Tues, June 14th, 1:30-5:30pm

Instructor: Meg Myles, US Power-Boating Certified Trainer (meg@conanicutyachtclub.org)

Cost: $50, charge to your SHYC account

BYO: Bring your own small powerboat with outboard engine, up to 22' (2 people per boat). Each person will also need a working VHF radio (handheld or attached to the boat).

What you will learn: Confidence! This will be a primarily hands-on course that builds skills and confidence driving powerboats with outboard engines. We will work on maneuvering in close quarters, leaving and returning to a dock, anchoring, aids to navigation, towing, rescuing a person (or hat) in the water, starting procedures, and proper boat tie ups (dock & mooring). We will discuss fueling procedures and pre-trip considerations.

Note: You will not receive a license or certification from this class, this is a "lite" version of US Powerboating.

Eligibility: SHYC members, ladies, ages 18+. Class size is capped at 12 students and 6 boats (buddy up).
